WinXp Installation After Win7 -- Part-1

Hi Friends,
If windows 7 Install On Drive C: and We want to Install WinXp on drive D: . Boot Loader Change. How to Create Boot Loader................... ???

WINDOWS VISTA / WINDOWS 7 TWEAKING

Bcdedit stands for Boot Configuration Data. Microsoft has done away with the old boot.ini for its new operating system but to ensure compatibility with the older windows operating systems. It does keep the old NTLDR based boot loader around. If an NTLDR Based operating system is already on your system and if you install windows Vista/Windows 7, the new boot loader is installed before the NTLDR (New Technology Loader) boot order.
The New Structure threats the BCD boot manager as a mini operating system that runs your main operating systems as applications. This booting operating system has entries for different applications in its data store. These entries from the data store act as pointers to the operating systems installed on the hard drive………….

Re-Installing the BCD Bootmanager

If you just bought a computer that came pre-installed with Windows Vista / Windows 7 and you want to have dual boot with Windows XP, you might be in a fix. If you try installing XP it will remove the BCD boot manager and install its own older NTLDR based OS loader. Follow the Procedure given to resolve this issue…
After XP installation is finished. Please Download KOMKU Software… and extract. It create a directory in Drive C: name komku.
Go to Start| All Programs| Accessories and run command prompt. Type ‘ C: ’ press [Enter] and then type ‘ cd \komku\bootsect ‘ to go to the bootsect folder on your c: drive, here type

C:\komku\bootsect> bootsect.exe  /nt60  all

This will re-install the BCD bootloader as the new OS loader and when you reboot, Windows Vista/ Windows 7 will boot by itself.
Now Start the Command Prompt in Vista/7 and put another operating system entry in BCD Registry.
Start > All Programs > Accessories Now right click on command prompt and select ‘ Run as Administrator ‘ .
bcdedit  /create  {ntldr}  /d  “Windows XP”

Press Enter and then type …..
bcdedit  /set  {ntldr}  device  boot

After the Previous Step , Type…..
bcdedit   /set  {ntldr}  path  \ntldr

to assign the path to the entry. Then Type …….
bcdedit   /displayorder  {ntldr}  /addlast

to add the operating system entry to the end of our operating system list.
Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyy…………………. Work confidently with your master boot record (MBR).
